Fantastic 4 Rise of the Silver Surfer

After watching Fantastic 4 Rise of the Silver Surfer, I was left wanting more. The movie takes place after the first Fantastic 4 movie. They have defeated Von Doom, and everything seems peaceful as Mr. Fantastic(Ioan Gruffud) and The Invisible Woman (Jessica Alba) being to plan their wedding.

Weird anomalies begin to appear around the planet, and the Fantastic 4 is called upon to investigate. This is when the Silver Surfer appears. The Silver Surfer is an alien being working for a larger alien being which consumes planets, known as Galactus. Just when the Fantastic 4 thought they had enough to deal with, their old enemy reappears. Rather than fight, Dr. Doom teams up with the Fantastic 4 defeat the Silver Surfer.

This movie follows the comic book accurately from what I remember, but the storyline for this movie was pretty bad. There were several moments when I just wanted to get up and walk away. The movie overall was pretty cheesy, but its mildly entertaining. the visual effects for the movie seem pretty sub-par for something this new as well. One nice scene is when the Human Torch catches the Silver Surfer.

The Negotiator

After just watching "The Negotiator" my feelings on the movie have not changed. I've seen this movie several times, but it always gets me hooked. Samuel L Jackson's character is a Chicago PD negotiator, and he must face off against another negotiator played by Kevin Spacey. Jackson's character Danny Roman has been framed for murder and the police are after him. He takes several hostages, and uses his skills as a negotiator to talk his way out.
This movie is a great movie regardless of how many times you've seen it. It plays on all your feelings, and even if I already know the ending, I can't wait for it to happen. The suspense is great, theres plenty of action, and in several occasions you even worry for Jackson's character.

Transformers the movie

First post regarding a movie. I recently saw Transformers the Movie, and thought it was a great movie. The movie itself was a great movie, but not a good Transformers movie. There was plenty of action, small bits of comedy, and left the audience wanting more.

The movie's background was set with an introduction of a comic book, which was the prequel to the movie. The movie itself takes place where the comic left off. The Autobots, a group of robots from another planet, have come to earth to find an item called the allspark, and must do so before the Decepticons, their enemies, find it. They end up fighting their war on Earth, and this is when all the action takes place.

One scene, where one of the Decepticons, Barricade attempts to get some info out of Shia LaBeouf was a good scene, because its the first of the Decepticons that you see transform, and it also leads into a nice chase scene.

This movie was overall a great movie, because it was entertaining, but it failed to follow the original Transformers feeling. The robots no longer looked how they should have, and they didn't make the infamous transformation sounds. in the end, this movie was great because it had plenty of action, small bits of comedy, and was a movie based off the original 1980's cartoon.
